ETL SEMKO is Intertek Testing Services co., LTD., a part of, the company is the world's largest products and commodity inspection organization in North America, Europe and Asia in 93 countries with 240 laboratories and 469 offices. ETL SEMKO provides for product safety testing and certification, EMC testing, product performance testing, at the same time to provide such as medicine, HVAC, appliance, telecommunication, aerospace, automation, various industry such as semiconductor, building materials, energy generation system of quality management system of registration.
Any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product with an ETL inspection mark indicates that it has been tested in accordance with relevant industry standards. Every industry has different testing standards, so be sure to consult a professional about specific product requirements. ETL inspection marks are widely used in cable products, indicating that they have passed the test.
Approval of electrical products is mandatory in most parts of the United States. ETL refers to ETL Testing Laboratories Inc. The products listed in ETL have been recognized by the Authorities with Jurisdiction, and may be considered to have been "approved".
The factory inspection
ETL needs to carry out factory inspection before issuing the certificate, and then follow up factory inspection on an irregular basis every quarter. Besides factory inspection fee, the fees should be paid quarterly. Inspectors may witness product retesting or sampling in the laboratory if necessary. Licensor must enter into a statutory contract (service agreement) with ETL that clearly defines the manufacturer's liability and the conditions for the use of continuous ETL column names and ETL symbols.
There are two ways to obtain the ETL certificate until 2013. One is to transfer the test report through CB or apply directly. The required documents are as follows:
