Test standard
UN38.3 test items and test qualification criteria
UN38.3 test items
T.1 high altitude simulation test
In pressure of 11.6 kPa or less, 20 + / - 5 ℃ temperature conditions, save more than six hours, no leakage, exhaust, disintegration, rupture, burning.
2 hot test. T.
In 72 + 2 ℃ and - 40 plus or minus 2 ℃ under the condition of high and low temperature impact test, the limit temperature storage time of 6 h, or high and low temperature conversion time 30 min or less, shock, 10 times at room temperature (20 + / - 5 ℃) for 24 h, test the total time for at least a week
T.3 vibration test
Within 15min, a reciprocating logarithmic sweep sine vibration was completed from 7Hz to 200Hz, and 12 three-dimensional directional vibration was completed within 3h.
Logarithmic sweep: from 7 hz to maintain the maximum acceleration of 1gn until the frequency reaches 18 hz. The amplitude is then kept at 0.8mm
(total offset: 1.6mm) and increase the frequency until the maximum acceleration reaches 8gn (frequency: about 50hz). Will be the biggest
The acceleration stays at 8gn until the frequency increases to 200 hz.
T.4 impact test
Semi-sine shocks of 150g, 6ms or 50g and 11ms shall be carried out 3 times in each installation direction, a total of 18 times.
T.5 external short circuit test
Outside the 55 + 2 ℃, resistance < 0.1 Ω under the condition of short circuit, short circuit time until the battery temperature back to 55 + 2 ℃ after 1 h.
T.6 collision test
9.1kg weight was placed on the battery with a 15.8mm round rod from a height of 61 + / -2.5cm to test the battery surface temperature.
T.7 overcharging test
Under the condition of 2 times the maximum continuous charging current and 2 times the maximum charging voltage, the battery is overcharged for 24 hours.
T.8 forced discharge test
The battery is connected with a 12V dc power supply and forced discharge is carried out with the maximum discharge current.
Determine the test eligibility criteria
(a) no disintegration or fire occurred during the tests between t.1 and t.6.
(b) in test t. 1, t. 2 and t. 5, the effluent was not toxic, flammable or corrosive.
> visual observation showed no exhaust or leakage.
2> did not occur, resulting in weight loss exceeding the exhaust or leakage shown in table
(c) in test T.3 and T.6, the effluent was not toxic or corrosive.
> visual observation showed no exhaust or leakage.
2> did not occur, resulting in weight loss exceeding the exhaust or leakage shown in table
Packing requirements and condition restrictions
Packaging requirements
1. Unless installed in the equipment (such as mobile phone, camera, walkie-talkie, laptop, etc.),
The battery and the original battery must be packed separately to prevent short circuit and packed in a strong outer package.
2. Unless installed in the equipment, if each package contains more than 24 primary batteries or 12 batteries,
The following requirements must also be met:
1) each package must be marked with a mark indicating the special measures to be taken when the lithium battery and the package are damaged
2) random documents must be provided for each batch of goods to explain that lithium battery and packaging parts should be damaged in the package
Special measures.
3) each package must be able to withstand the drop test of 1.2m in any direction without damaging the package
The battery, or metaclasses, do not change the position of the battery in it to the battery and battery (or the original battery and the original electricity)
Contact with each other, no battery leaks from the package.
4) unless the lithium battery is installed in the equipment, the gross weight of each package shall not exceed 30kg.
The delivered lithium-ion batteries and lithium battery packs may be non-restricted (non-hazardous) if they meet all the following conditions
Transportation. If any of the following conditions cannot be met, the operation shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of UN3090 or UN3091

what is the difference between UN38.3 and MSDS

UN38.3 is the test standard. Full name is specifically formulated for dangerous goods transportation at the United Nations "the dangerous goods transportation test and standard manual" in part 3 of 38. The paragraph 3, which requires lithium battery before shipping, must pass height simulation, high and low temperature cycle, vibration test, impact test and 55 ℃ short circuit, impact test, overcharge test, mandatory discharge test, to ensure the safety of the lithium battery transport. If the lithium battery is not installed with the device and each package contains more than 24 battery cores or 12 batteries, it must pass the 1.2m free fall test.
MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) refers to the chemical Safety technical specification, which can also be translated into the chemical Safety specification or the chemical Safety Data specification. Is chemical producers and importers is used to illustrate the physical and chemical properties of chemicals (such as PH value, flash point, flammable degrees, reaction activity, etc.) as well as to the user's health (such as cancer, birth defects, etc.) may produce the hazards of a text
