1. The applicant submits the company and product information
Written application: you should require UL to test your products in writing.
Company information: provide detailed and accurate name, address, contact person, postal code, telephone number and fax of the following units in both Chinese and English.

2. Make decisions based on the product information provided
When product information is complete, the UL engineer according to the data to the following decision: experiments according to the UL standard, testing of engineering cost, time and quantity samples, notify you in writing, and send the formal application form and tracking service agreement to your company. The application form indicates the expense limit, which is the maximum project cost estimated by UL according to the test project. The cost limit cannot be exceeded without your written authorization.
3. Apply for company remittance, return application form and sample
The applicant in the application form and tracking service agreement is signed, and send the form back to UL company, at the same time, through the bank transfer, or by express mail at the post office mail samples, please send test samples for proper instructions (such as name, type). Please send the application form and sample separately. For each application item, UL will specify a unique Project number (Project No.) to indicate the Project number and the name of the applicant company when remittance, sample and application form are sent to UL for inspection.
4. Product testing
Upon receipt of the application form, remittance and test samples signed by your company, UL will inform you of the completion time of the experiment plan. Product testing is generally carried out at UL laboratories in the United States, and UL can also accept audited third-party test data. The test samples will be returned or destroyed according to your requirements.
If the product test results conform to the requirements of the UL standard, UL testing qualified report will be issued and tracking Service details (FollowUp Service Procedure) test report will detail test conditions, samples, product structure and the performance indexes of products suitable for the use of safety signs, etc. The tracking service details include product descriptions and guidance notes for UL area inspectors. A copy of the test report is sent to the applicant company, and a copy of the tracking service details is sent to each production plant.
5. The applicant is authorized to use the UL mark

When UL believes that product changes affect its safety performance, it needs to apply for the company to resubmit samples for necessary testing.
The cost of the tracking service is not included in the test cost.
If the product test results can't meet the UL standard requirements, UL will notify the applicant, explain the existing problems and the improvement of products design, be able to produce a product, you should tell the UL engineer, are doing product improvements, so that its decision to the above steps is to apply for UL certification.
